  94. ProDoor Command Details
  95. -----------------------
  96.  
  97. (A)bandon   Leave current conference and return to the Main Board.
  98.             Continue reading messages.
  99.  
  100. (B)ulletin  Bulletin listings.  List the bulletins available for viewing
  101.             and the date they were placed on the system.
  102.  
  103. (C)omment   Enter a comment message to the sysop.  You specify the
  104.             'subject' of the message.  The message will be protected so
  105.             it is seen only by the sysop.
  106.  
  107. (D)ownload  "Downloading" refers to moving files from this system to
  108.             your system.  You can also "stack" (S)tart or (G)oodbye
  109.             after the last filename to immediately start the transfer.

  116. (E)nter     Enter a new message.  You then specify who the message is to
  117.             be addressed to, as well as the 'subject' of the message.
  118.             You can protect the message so it will be seen only be the
  119.             'receiver'.
  120.  
  121. (F)ile      File directory listings.  Lists the names of the files that
  122.             are available on the board for downloading to your system.
  123.   
  124. (FL)ag      Flag file for later download.  All flagged files are
  125.             automatically selected for download when you use the
  126.             (D)ownload command. Note:  you will lose your flag list when
  127.             you use (U)pload, (ZIPM), (TEST) or (REPACK) commands.
  128.             Use (FL U) (file) to UN-flag a specific file.
  129.             Use (FL U *) to completely clear the flag list.
  130.  
  131. (G)oodbye   Logs you off the system.  Examples:
  132.                 G          ;logoff
  133.                 G Q        ;quick logoff, bypass closing bulletins
  134.  
  135. (H)otkeys   Enable instant response on most commands.  Eliminates the
  136.             need to type RETURN to activate most commands.
  137.             In hotkey mode you should use ";" (not SPACE) to "stack"
  138.             commands.  The spacebar acts like RETURN in hotkey mode.
  139.  
  140. (J)oin      Allows you to switch to a different conference.  You may
  141.             specify either a conference number or a conference name.
  142.             Don't use <SPACE> in hotkey mode.  Examples:

  161. (LIB)rary   This selection allows access to CD-ROM libraries. The
  162.             selected CR-ROM disk will automatically be compressed into
  163.             a zipfile for you to view, manipulate and download.

  166.  
  167. (L)ocate    Locate files (by name).  With this selection, you can scan
  168.             the file directories for a matching filename.  Examples of
  169.             valid wildcards:
  170.                L *PC        ;Files ending in 'PC'
  171.                L PC*        ;Files starting with 'PC'
  172.  
  173. (M)ode      Select graphics or non-graphics display mode.  Turns the
  174.             ANSI graphics mode on and off.
  175.  
  176. (N)ew file  Scan (by date).  Allows you to search the file directory
  177.             listings for either new files added to the system since the
  178.             last time you called, or for files added from a date which
  179.             you specify.  Examples:

  184. (NEWS)      Repeat conference news message.  Redisplays the system news
  185.             message.  If you are inside a conference, you will see the
  186.             conference news/welcome message again.

  188. (NODE)      Displays the list of callers that are online on other nodes
  189.             in a multi-node system.
  190.  
  191. (O)perator  This selection allows you to try and page the sysop to come
  192.             to the computer.
  193.  
  194. (P)age      Sets the number of lines displayed before stopping with a
  195.             "More:" prompt.  Setting page length to 0 disables all more
  196.             prompting.
  197.  
  198. (Q)uick     Shows you a quick summary of messages available for reading.
  199.             Includes the first 72 characters of message text.
  200.  
  201. (QQ)uicker  Shows you a quicker summary of messages available for reading.
  202.             Does not display any of the message text.
  203.  
  204. (QU)it      Return to PCBoard.  This selection closes the door and
  205.             returns you to the main bbs program.
  206.  
  207. (R)ead      Read and reply-to messages.  This selection allows you to
  208.             read the messages in the current conference.  Additional
  209.             help is available at the mail command prompt.  Example:

  211.  
  212. (REPACK)    Re pack zipfile with maximum compression. This selection will
  213.             re compress a selected zipfile and store the result in
  214.             $SCRATCH$.   You can specify an alternate format to convert
  215.             files to a format you can use. Examples:
  216.                REPACK TPC14.ARC LZH     ;convert .ARC to .LZH format
  217.                REPACK PRODOR30 ZOO      ;convert .ZIP to .ZOO format
  218.  
  219. (REPLY)     This command allows you to directly to a message from a
  220.             command line.  Useful when you are reading messages offline
  221.             through the ZIPM function.  The original message number can
  222.             be stacked.
  223.  
  224. (S)can      Toggle auto-join and ZIPM access to the current conference.
  225.  
  226. (T)able     Table of protocols.  This command lists the protocol driver
  227.             program command lines used to implement the various
  228.             protocols.  The estimated efficiency of each protocol is
  229.             included in this report.
  230.  
  231. (TEST)      Test the validity of a ZIP file.  This command will call up
  232.             a "test" function to verify that a zipfile is valid before
  233.             downloading.  Example:

  235.  
  236. (U)pload    Move files between your system and the board.  Examples:
  237.                U WINTER
  238.                U Z RAIN SNOW SUN
  239.  
  240. (V)iew      View user profile.  Displays the number of times you have
  241.             used ProDoor, your security level, number of downloads and
  242.             uploads, number of download bytes "earned" through
  243.             uploading, and total download bytes available.
  244.  
  245. (F V)iew    View/extract zipfile contents.  List contents of zipfile and
  246.             optionally view the text files without downloading.  It is
  247.             also possible to  "extract" parts of a zipfile into
  248.             $SCRATCH$ for downloading.
  249.  
  250. (VX)quick   Quick view/extract zipfile contents.  View the text files in
  251.             an zipfile without downloading.  It is also possible to
  252.             "extract" parts of a zipfile into $SCRATCH$ for
  253.             downloading.
  254.  
  255.             You can take any of these actions on each file contained in
  256.             the .ZIP file:
  257.                (Enter) or (S)kip
  258.                    Pressing (Enter) alone or typing (S) will skip over
  259.                    the current file and present you with the next file
  260.                    in the archive.
  261.                (V)iew
  262.                    Directly view the contents of the current text file.
  263.                (Q)uit
  264.                    Skip over all the remaining files in the zipfile and
  265.                    return you to the ProDOOR command prompt.
  266.  
  267. (W)rite     Write user database information.  Allows you to change your
  268.             password, phone numbers, location and user comment.
  269.  
  270. (X)pert     Selects expert or novice mode.
  271.  
  272. (Y)our      Search for messages addressed to you.
  273.  
  274. (YA)        Search for messages addressed to you OR to "all".
  275.  
  276. (Z)ippy     Keyword DIR scan (by subject).  Allows you to scan the file
  277.             directories for a matching keyword entry of your choice.

  281. (ZIPM)      Zip new mail.  Captures up to 400 new messages in selected
  282.             conferences and then zips them in $SCRATCH$ for smallest
  283.             possible download time.  Examples:

  285.                ZIPM A         ;zip mail in all conferences
  286.                ZIPM M 10 14   ;zip mail in main board (M), areas 10 and 14
  287.                ZIPM TOOLS AI  ;zip TOOLS and AI conferences
  288.             Use (L)ast-read command to reset your "last read" message
  289.             pointers.
  290.             Use (J A)uto-config or (SC)an commands to select message
  291.             areas in (ZIPM A)ll.
